3-6 November 2010
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

Hong Kong hosted a four-day international conference bringing together stakeholders in the public and private sectors to exchange views on how to expedite the trajectory to tackle climate change. The conference included a C40 workshop, providing a platform for policy-makers and experts from cities from around the world, to share experience on policies and technologies to achieve low carbon living. Hong Kong has a unique role in Asia to play a consensus-building role. For further information and to be inspired, take a look at the conference presentations by leading experts including scientist Johan Rockstrom, former adviser to the Chinese Government Martin Lees, Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg and former Mayor of Toronto, David Miller.

Climate Dialogue attracted over 1,600 delegates across four event days. A further 300 young people attended the Get It Green Youth Summit on 7 November, held at the Academy of Performing Arts. Thirty-two organizations formally agreed to be Supporting Organizations of the conference, covering the tertiary education sector and professional associations dealing with transport, built environment and urban planning issues relevant to the climate discussion. Many of them also organised special events at their institutions during the same week. These events focused on a variety of climate related issues including culture & arts, climate security, climate science, architecture, green technology and philanthropy. The events were very well attended, attracting over 2,200 people.
